Tour Description:

Day 1 and 2:
Depart Eros (Windhoek) Airport or Hosea Kutako Airport at app 09.00 in the morning to Desert Rhino Camp.

Desert Rhino Camp - Desert Rhino Camp is a luxury tented mobile camp run in conjunction with the “Save the Rhino Trust” in the Palmwag concession area of the rugged northern Damaraland.   The camp offers a fascinating insight into the ecology and conservation of this incredible area, at the same time contributing directly to the Trust and ultimately the sustainability of this vulnerable area and its wildlife. Here you spend 2 nights at Desert Rhino Camp on a fully inclusive basis. The area we traverse, whilst tracking Black Rhino and other wildlife is massive, over 450 000 hectares.   The camp has large “meru” tents with en-suite facilites.   A maximum of 12 guests will have the rare pleasure of exploring this wild and remote area in the company of the dedicated conservationists who host them together with local trackers.Wildlife in the area includes Hartmann’s Mountain Zebra, Giraffe, Oryx, Springbok, Ostrich, Desert Adapted Elephant, Lions, Cheetah, Leopard, Spotted and Brown Hyaena and the highlight of course, Black Rhino.

Day 3 and 4:
Today’s scenic flight takes you to Hartmann Valley and to one of the most remote camps in Southern Africa, Serra Cafema Camp.   You stay two at Serra Cafema Camp on fully inclusive basis.

Serra Cafema Camp - Serra Cafema Camp is an exclusive desert getaway on the banks of the Kunene River in the remote northwestern section of Kaokoland.  The camp, which overlooks Angola, is situated about 65 km east of the Kunene Mouth under huge, shady Ana trees.   Accommodation is in eight double tents with en-suite facilities.   Serra Cafema has a well-stocked bar and swimming pool.   Excursions into the breathtaking surroundings of the Hartmanns Valley are undertaken in 4x4 vehicles, while boat trips are undertaken on the river.   The area is a birdwatchers paradise, and if you’re lucky, you might even see the ferocious Kunene crocodiles basking on a sandy riverbank.   There are several Himba settlements in the vicinity of Serra Cafema, which give guests the opportunity to observe the lifestyles and traditions of this nomadic race of Herero origin at close quarters.

Day 5:
After a last early morning activity, transfer to the airstrip at Hartmann Valley and flight over the incredible scenery of the Kaokoland back to Windhoek.
