Exeter River Lodge has a superb location - nestled in the shade of a grove of Ebony trees on the banks of the Sand River within the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve. This is some of the prettiest river frontage in the reserve with large flat river boulders often being used by lion as an open sundeck.
Sabi Sands Game Reserve:
The 65,000 ha Sabi Sands is considered to have some of the best Big Five game-viewing in South Africa, with an open border with the Kruger so animals move freely in and out. Due to a long history of sensitive game-viewing, the animals are mostly relaxed allowing superb game-viewing, especially of leopard. So diverse is its habitat and wildlife that you have an excellent chance of experiencing close encounters with the 'Big 5' - elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard - as well as many species of antelope, several dog-like species including spotted hyena and cape hunting dog, jackal, and a variety of smaller mammals.

Chuma House is an exclusive villa with lovely views of the Zambezi River. Guests will have their own private chef to cook all meals, butler service and a private Guide, vehicle and boat for all activities.
Victoria Falls (Zambian side): The Victoria Falls is a dramatic scenic contrast and a change of pace from the private game reserves. It is a sight not to be missed - the clouds of spray generated by this thunderous descent have resulted in a lush rain forest full of stunning wild flowers and the most spectacular views of the Falls are from the Zambian side of the gorge. The best time to view the Falls is probably between April/May and August when the spray is less so that the Falls are easier to capture on film and yet the flow of water is still impressive.

Game-viewing is done by day and by night using spotlights to track nocturnal animals such as leopard, genet and spotted hyena. In the evenings, you dine on the deck with the night sounds of Africa.
South Luangwa: At the southern tip of the Great Rift Valley lies the South Luangwa National Park, one of Africa's premier wildlife sanctuaries. It's a place of primeval forest and lush savanna, stretching for hundreds of miles and encompassing the Luangwa River basin, its adjacent highlands and a mosaic of different habitats extending outwards from the central river. The brooding Luangwa River meanders through the luxuriant valley, supporting thousands of hippo and crocodile and sustaining the park. South Luangwa has one of the greatest game concentrations in Africa. Elephant, a wide variety of antelope, buffalo, kudu, zebra, Thornycroft's giraffe and wildebeest occur in great numbers, as well as over 400 bird species.
